Role on Project
I was the sole contractor on this project.
I managed all client meetings and discussions. Working with the client stakeholders I defined the target audience and primary and secondary goals of the website. Based upon user research and stakeholder requirements, I designed the site UX to optimize the top priorities.
Creating wireframes and mock-ups, I attained stakeholder approval.
I built the website using Wix website builder which was the client’s preference as this was a rebuild of the existing website.
Tools & Technology
- WordPress
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Wix website builder
- SEO Tools: Yoast, SemRush, Spyfu
This project went from a simple re-facing to a complete over-haul of an existing website. From SEO, user personas, wireframing and design, this site went through a complete cycle of re-development. The only thing that didn’t change, regretfully, was the platform.

We created a mobile app for Gen Con and related conventions.
The app is built in ReactNative and is available for Android and iOS. The app served many of the same functions as the website, but some specialty features for electronic ticketing.
The app integrates many site features such as event searching, convention map, attendee schedule and ticket purchase.
The app allows Event Hosts to scan badges for electronic tickets eliminating the need for paper tickets.

The Looking Glass was created in 2020 for an alternative to an in-person exhibit hall. The Gen Con convention had gone online. This feature was a cornerstone of the online convention.
Looking glass dynamically displays exhibitor tiles in a virtual space. Each exhibitor tile opens to details which includes company information, important links, product shots and other details.
The map is searchable by keyword and exhibitor category. Searching filters the tiles setting non-results to translucent objects.

Role on Project
On this website I work as a collaborative and creative partner with the Artist and client.
Researching various sources, we designed a layout approach together that worked for his vision. I created the layouts in Figma for approval, then built and modified iterively as we went along.
I create most of the content, subject to Doug’s approval, as well creating all graphics. I also manage the creation and design of monthly email campaigns using Mailchimp.
I built the website using WordPress and the Divi theme to make it easy to manage and update content. Working with a contracted DevOps consultant, I set up a local development and staging deployment workflow using git and Bluehost staging sites to make ongoing development more fluid and less risky.
