Douglas Granum Website

Projects: Douglas Granum

Role on Project

On this website I work as a collaborative and creative partner with the Artist and client.

Researching various sources, we designed a layout approach together that worked for his vision. I created the layouts in Figma for approval, then built and modified iterively as we went along.

I create most of the content, subject to Doug’s approval, as well creating all graphics. I also manage the creation and design of monthly email campaigns using Mailchimp.

I built the website using WordPress and the Divi theme to make it easy to manage and update content. Working with a contracted DevOps consultant, I set up a local development and staging deployment workflow using git and Bluehost staging sites to make ongoing development more fluid and less risky.

The DouglasGranum.com website is a site to promote the works and ongoing art practices of the artist Douglas Granum.

His work has spanned decades, featuring large-scale bronze sculptures and massive stone and earthworks. His work is broad working in bronze, stone, glass, wood, painting and more. Recently as well he is writing creative fiction.

As an eternally creative person, the client, Douglas Granum wanted an ongoing approach to site content, almost like a magazine that would be able to feature current works as well as highlight past works, and honor partner creatives in the field.
